Massimo Amorosi from Africa Union’s Monitoring for Environment and Security in Africa (MESA) coordinating office visited the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development earlier in the day. He was received by Dr. Hussein Farah (Director General) on behalf of the management of the Centre. Afterwards, they had a brief closed-
door meeting in relation to the partnership between MESA and the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development.

Massimo Amorosi was on a fact finding mission regarding MESA’s activities at the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development. MESA is a three-year project which started in 2014 aiming to increase the information management, decision-making and planning capacity of African continental, regional and national institutions mandated for environment, climate, food security and related responsibilities by enhancing access to and exploitation of relevant Earth Observation applications in Africa. Additionally, RCMRD will be participating in the 1st Forum of the Monitoring for Environment and Security in Africa (MESA) to be held in Nairobi from 31 August, 2015 to 04 September, 2015.
