The Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) staff attended SERVIR project’s Geospatial Information Technologies (GITs) Exchange in Huntsville, Alabama from 18th to 22nd April, 2016. The aim of the Global Exchange was to share information and knowledge among the SERVIR network on GITs, and to
promote collaboration in matters related to GIT across the SERVIR network members. The exchange discussed Introduction to innovative geospatial technologies, Consultation and communication among hubs on the use of GIT at each hub, Adoption and integration of SERVIR Knowledge Management (KM) tools, online presence, Data Policy, and Science discussions. The event was attended by participants from SERVIR Regional Hubs, SERVIR Support Team, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) SERVIR Science Coordination Office, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri), DigitalGlobe, Google, SpatialDev, among others.
