The Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) and Africa is a joint Programme co-funded by the African Union Commission (AUC) and the European Union (EU). The objective of GMES & Africa is to develop, improve and sustain local, institutional, human and technical capacities for accessing and using Earth Observation data and services. To achieve this, GMES & Africa provides decision makers with Information and Tools needed for the implementation of sustainable socioeconomic development at the continental, regional and national levels.
