Capacity Development & Training
One of our key service areas is capacity building and training which aims to empower individuals and institutions in our member States with skills and knowledge in geospatial technology and ICT. Through custom made training and workshops, we provide foundational and advanced knowledge in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and other critical technologies for environmental and resource management. By fostering a skilled workforce in these areas, RCMRD enhances the capacity of government agencies, private organizations, and NGOs to make data-informed decisions that support sustainable development and address pressing issues such as land management, climate resilience, and disaster risk reduction.
At the heart of RCMRD's capacity building initiatives is the Regional Centre Training Institute (RCTI), which offers a range of geospatial and ICT courses. Courses offered at RCTI include both short-term and long-term programs, covering areas such as
