SERVIR E&SA project has prioritised user engagement in the design and development of services in its four main service areas:

  1. land use land cover changes and ecosystems
  2. weather and climate
  3. agriculture and food security
  4. water resources and hydro-climatic disasters

User engagement remains to be one of the key elements of a successful system or service implementation. It entails user participation and involvement in every step from the inception stage to the implementation and evaluation stage. SERVIR E&SA has developed service planning framework involving scoping and need assessment, problem definition, design and planning, implementation and performance monitoring and finally monitoring and evaluation.

SERVIR product catalogue:

The SERVIR product catalogue (http://servircatalog.net) and RCMRD application portal (http://apps.rcmrd.org/) are searchable sources of all applications and tools developed and implemented by the hubs on a global level.. The application portal provides browsing of entries based on theme, status, earth observation data used, and types of product. For each of the four service areas various application addressing climatic related development problems are listed.
